Event Calendar
Last week I worked in New York. I took an evening to see Zack Clark (Catazaro), one of my Connections from three years ago, dance with the New York City Ballet. Zack is an Apprentice with the Company. He was one of my first Connections and we have stayed in contact for almost four years. The tears rolled down my face when I saw him on the stage at Lincoln Center. I know how hard he worked to get on that stage.
Zack would not have been there without the Connections Program. His scholarship to the School of American Ballet would not have happened if Zack had not been assigned to me in the Connections program -- I was able to call his situation to the attention of Patricia McBride, who is responsible for the scholarship.
The Connection Program has also given me great joy, tons of fun and lasting friendship with about 10 young dancers. I am grateful to Susan Helm who has worked unstintingly to make the program such an enormous success.
